This past weekend, I attended a workshop at Soap & More – The Learning Centre. We spent two hours learning how to make a whole line of men’s basic products. As always, I had a great time!
We started by making a charcoal soap, aimed at removing impurities from the skin. We used a Melt and Pour Goatsmilk soap, so it was a very quick process. The result was a very masculine looking bar of soap.
From there, we made an aftershave, shaving soap and a body wash. I scented each product with a combination of peppermint and some other essential oil, like Elemi, Frankincense or Litsea Cubeba. Each one smells very refreshing and uplifting.
The best part of the workshop for me was when we made a lotion. This was the longest process of all of the products, but was very easy. It was the first time that I worked with emulsifying wax and now that I know how simple it is, I can`t wait to try out some other combinations. The lotion came out very creamy and it works great as a moisturizer. Best of all, it isn’t greasy on my skin.
All in all, it was a great way to spend a Saturday afternoon and now, I have all kind of new experiments to run at home!
