HAPPY CANADA DAY!
Canada Day is one of my favorite holidays. It’s a day to celebrate this vast country in which I live and recognize all that it has to offer.
My favorite Canada Day celebration is from a few years ago. It was in 2003 that I was able to spend Canada Day in the nation’s capital, Ottawa.
I was there with a group of my classmates from school. We wore red and white all day and roamed the city, visiting all of the sites. There were festival areas which featured booths of people from different parts of the world, showing off their contributions to Canada. There was dancing all day, all kinds of different food, and music.
The festivities went late into the evening and was topped off by fireworks.
Perhaps the best part of the day was the positive energy being generated in the city. Everyone was there to enjoy the day and to take note of what makes Canada so special.
To anyone who is marking the day today – HAPPY CANADA DAY!
